My second week at BAS was fairly quiet, with a bit of time spent on Helpdesk and the rest with various different people trying to get an idea of all of the different aspects of the job.

The weekend brought a bit of a change from work as I headed back to Lancaster to join Sands Contest Group taking part in the IARU contest – a 24-hour amateur radio competition, where the object is to contact as many other stations as possible within the defined period.

The contest was a very enjoyable break from getting used to the new job, and a welcome chance to see people before I leave.
